Privacy Policy

Last updated October 17, 2026

This policy explains what Poker Halo collects when you use Poker Halo, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your games and money records are yours, we use them only to run the app, and we don't sell or share them for advertising. Poker Halo has no ads and no third-party tracking or analytics.

1. Without an account: saved on this device

Signed out, what you track (games, players, buy-ins, bankroll, sessions, lesson progress, settings) is saved in your browser on this device and isn't sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data, or Settings → Delete all data, removes it. Export JSON in Settings gives you a copy.

2. What we collect with an account

  • Account: your email address and a password (stored hashed by our sign-in provider), or your name and email from Google if you sign in with Google.
  • Profile: display name, username, profile character, and your quiz answers from onboarding (goal and experience).
  • What you track, synced so it's on every device: home games, the players you add and their buy-ins, cash-outs and side games, table setups, casino sessions, bankroll movements, lesson progress, saved poker rooms, and a change history for edits.
  • What you share: room notes and likes, friend requests, live-game links, chat, emotes and buy-in requests on live tables, and your seats, names and moves at online poker tables.
  • Plus: your plan, its status and renewal date, and the IDs Stripe gives your customer record and subscription. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
  • Location, only when you ask: "Use my location" on Poker rooms reads your location in the browser to sort rooms by distance. It isn't saved or sent to us. A place you type into search is sent to OpenStreetMap to find it on the map.
  • Technical data: like any website, our hosting and database providers receive your IP address, browser type and request logs when you use the Service, to deliver it and keep it secure.

3. Who else sees what

  • Nobody sees your games, bankroll or stats unless you share them.
  • Live links: anyone with a live game link you share sees that game (players, buy-ins, results) and its chat. A private seat link shows that player their seat.
  • Members: signed-in members can read room notes, with each author's display name, profile character and a Plus badge if they have Plus.
  • Friends: see your username, display name, profile character and Plus badge, nothing else.
  • Online tables: players at a table see your seat name, character, chips and moves, and cards shown at showdown. Your hidden cards are never sent to anyone else.

4. How we use it

To run Poker Halo: sign you in, sync and back up your data, show what you share to the people it's for, run online tables, provide Plus and handle billing, keep the Service safe and stop abuse, answer you when you write to us, and meet legal obligations.

A small number of Poker Halo team members can see account details (email, profile, plan and activity counts) and shared content, to give support, manage Plus, moderate and enforce our terms. Every change they make is logged.

We don't sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for ads. We don't use it to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

If you're in the EU or UK, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (running the app and Plus), our legitimate interests (security, fixing problems, improving the app), your consent (location, which you can withdraw any time) and legal obligations.

5. Services that help us run Poker Halo

These providers process data for us, only to provide their service:

  • Supabase: database, sign-in and real-time live tables.
  • Vercel: hosts the website.
  • Stripe: Plus checkout, billing, tax and the subscription portal. Stripe may act as the seller of record and handles payments under its own privacy policy.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) and OpenFreeMap: place search and map tiles on Poker rooms; they see your IP address and what you search.
  • Venue websites: some poker room photos load straight from the venue's own site, which sees your IP address.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the Service (with this policy still applying).

6. Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Poker Halo stores what it needs in your browser: your data (IndexedDB), your sign-in session and light/dark theme (local storage), and short-lived onboarding answers and search results (session storage). These are needed for the app to work, so there's nothing to opt out of; clearing your browser's site data removes them.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete it or your account. Some things clear themselves: thrown items on live tables after a day, online poker lobbies that never started after 3 days, and the hand history of tournaments 14 days after they finish (the final standings stay).

When you delete your account, its data is deleted right away; copies in our providers' backups and logs expire on their normal schedule. Billing records are kept by Stripe as the law requires.

8. Your choices and rights

  • See and copy: Settings → Export JSON.
  • Correct: edit your profile, games and notes in the app.
  • Delete: delete single items, clear this device (Settings → Delete all data), or delete your whole account (Profile or Settings → Delete account).
  • Location: only used when you tap Use my location; you can block it in your browser.

Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states, the EU, the UK), you may also have the right to know, access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. We honor Global Privacy Control signals, though since we don't sell or share personal information there's nothing extra for them to switch off. To make a request, email pokerhaloapp@gmail.com; we'll answer within 30 days (45 where state law allows) and may need to confirm it's you. In the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

9. People you add

When you track a game, you may add other players' names and results. Please only add what they'd be comfortable with. If you're in someone else's records and want that removed, ask them, or email pokerhaloapp@gmail.com and we'll help.

10. Children

Poker Halo is for adults (18+). We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, or from anyone under 18 for an account. If you think a child has given us information, email pokerhaloapp@gmail.com and we'll delete it.

11. Security and where data lives

Data travels over HTTPS, and each account's rows are locked to that account in the database. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password. Our providers store data in the United States; if you use Poker Halo from elsewhere, your data is transferred there, with the safeguards our providers offer for such transfers.

12. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version. See also our Terms.

13. Contact
