Responsible play

Poker Halo is about enjoying poker: learning it, playing with friends and keeping honest records. We want it to stay fun. This page explains what Poker Halo is and isn't, and where to find help if gambling stops feeling like a game.
1. Poker Halo isn't a gambling site
- Play chips have no cash value. You can't buy, sell, win or withdraw money or prizes with them.
- We don't take bets, hold money or run real-money games. Tracking a home game or a casino session records what happened; the money changes hands between players, outside the app.
- Poker Halo is for adults (18+). Real-money gambling has its own age limits, often 21, and laws that differ by place. Check yours, including for private home games.
2. Keeping it fun
- Decide what you can afford to lose before you play, and stop there.
- Keep your bankroll separate from money for bills and savings. Poker Halo keeps deposits and withdrawals apart from wins and losses for exactly this reason.
- Set a time limit, and take breaks.
- Don't chase losses. A losing session is part of poker, not something to win back tonight.
- Don't play to escape stress, or when drinking.
3. Signs it may be a problem
- Betting more than you planned, or more to feel the same excitement.
- Borrowing money, or hiding how much you play.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back.
- Gambling getting in the way of work, family or sleep.
4. Free, confidential help
- United States: call or text 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537), or visit ncpgambling.org.
- United Kingdom: National Gambling Helpline 0808 8020 133 (GamCare), or begambleaware.org.
- Anywhere: Gamblers Anonymous runs meetings worldwide, and Gam-Anon supports family and friends.
5. Taking a break from Poker Halo
